Who Has Actually Switched from AI to SI?
Verified examples of SI terminology on White House and NASA pages, with sources, observation dates, and limits on what each example proves.
White House: SI in the directive itself
The clearest baseline is the September 29 executive order. It establishes the terminology policy. Because it explains the replacement, its text necessarily contains both the old and new terms. An automatic counter finding both phrases cannot determine that the White House is halfway through a rebrand.
What this proves: a published federal instruction uses and defines SI. What it does not prove: that every White House page, archived document, or link has changed.
White House: SI in a named public initiative
The October 13 announcement of the 2027 Presidential SI Challenge uses SI in the program title and describes a First Lady Seal of SI Readiness. This is a dated example beyond the wording of the order itself.
What this proves: SI terminology appears in a specific public program announcement. It is not evidence that every education program, or every school participating in one, has renamed its technology.
NASA: SI throughout a technology topic page
NASA’s Super Intelligence topic page explicitly connects its communications update to the September 29 order. Its navigation and explanatory material use SI, and its leadership section uses a Super Intelligence officer title. The page also retains links to articles whose titles include AI.
What this proves: SI is in use on that topic page. What it does not prove: a complete agency-wide migration or an exact date when each label changed. We observed the page on October 20; that is not a claim that the changes happened on October 20.
Counterexample: AI remains in an international event title
The IMF’s October 16 event page, “AI and the Global Economy: From Risk to Opportunity,” retains AI in its title. This is a useful comparison outside the U.S. executive branch. It should not be described as noncompliance with an instruction that does not address the IMF.
Why our tracker no longer declares “RENAMED” automatically
The old tracker inspected a few homepages and turned phrase counts into broad status labels. That overreached: a historical article, a quotation, or the policy explaining the replacement could all affect the count.
The revised tracker identifies the specific URL, reports the two full phrases found in extracted text, includes a short contextual excerpt, and shows the check time. Its labels describe observations: SI observed, AI observed, both terms, no match, or unreachable. An unreachable page supplies no evidence about naming.
How to submit another example
Send the exact page URL and the wording you found to [email protected]. A dated announcement is stronger evidence of timing than a changing page alone. Before-and-after records can establish a change; a current page usually establishes only its current wording.
