What Google announced
In its October 19 announcement, Google describes a way to review a source-based plan before Gemini Notebook generates slides or a video overview. With Review enabled, the Studio panel offers outline notes for slides and producer notes for video; users can give feedback before selecting Proceed. Google says the capabilities are rolling out worldwide during the following week. This does not establish availability in every account today. The announcement does not specify a new price.
Why review the plan before the presentation?
YYSI analysis: for a small business, the important decision is what the audience should understand and do. Attractive slides cannot repair an unsupported sales claim or a confusing sequence. Reviewing the plan offers a place to identify those problems before investing attention in the finished artifact. That is a workflow recommendation, not a measured claim that this feature saves a particular amount of time.
A five-question planning checklist
- What decision should this support? Write one sentence describing the audience’s next step: approve a pilot, compare two service options, or understand a process. Remove sections that do not help that decision.
- Which facts have a usable source? Match each price, deadline, performance claim, and customer example to the material you supplied. If a number has no source, remove it or explicitly label it as an assumption. A generated plan is not independent verification.
- Is the sequence understandable? A proposal might move from the customer’s problem to the proposed approach, evidence, costs, and next step. A training video might need prerequisites before instructions. Choose the sequence for the audience rather than accepting the first outline.
- What could be mistaken for a promise? Check wording about results, delivery dates, availability, and guarantees. An illustrative scenario should remain an example; it should not become a real customer story or a contractual commitment.
- What must stay out? Review the source set and proposed output for confidential client details, personal information, and material you lack permission to reuse. The checklist does not establish any product’s privacy or licensing terms.
A reusable brief for a client proposal
The following is an original YYSI prompt example. Adjust it to your sources and the controls actually available in your account:
Plan a short proposal for [audience] to decide [next step]. Start with their problem, then the proposed approach, supporting evidence, costs, and next action. Identify the source for every numerical claim. Flag missing evidence and assumptions. Exclude confidential details. Show the proposed structure for review before generating the presentation.
Treat this as a starting brief, not a guarantee that the tool will follow every instruction. If the review controls have not appeared, you can separately request a text outline and check it before creating an artifact.
Check the finished output as well
Reviewing a plan does not verify the final slides or narration. Compare the rendered output with the approved source facts, read captions and labels, and check that the next step is clear. Confirm sharing permissions before sending it to a client. Keep a source list with the deliverable so a later editor can distinguish facts from assumptions.
